Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMMH) is a leading provider of mental health services in the North West of England. Our trust employs over 7,000 staff members who deliver care from more than 160 locations across Bolton, Manchester, Salford, Trafford, and Wigan.

We provide inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in these areas, as well as specialist mental health and substance misuse services across Greater Manchester, the North West of England, and beyond.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Child Mental Health Specialist to join our team as a Senior Practitioner for Children & Young People. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work with a dedicated team of professionals who share your passion for delivering high-quality care to children and young people experiencing mental health crises.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child mental health, excellent leadership skills, and experience in managing complex cases. You will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, support, and consultation to the multidisciplinary team, while also developing and maintaining robust holistic care pathways for children and young people.

This role requires you to have a deep understanding of the range of mental health conditions and presentations that children and young people may experience, as well as excellent knowledge of best practice and clinical guidelines in this area. You will be expected to lead on the development of the multidisciplinary team's knowledge and skills set around the assessment and response to the needs of children and young people.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to effectively liaise with colleagues from other disciplines, agencies, and carers. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining robust communication networks with clients, carers, team members, other healthcare and social care workers, and external agencies.

The salary for this role is estimated to be in the range of £45,000-£55,000 per annum, depending on experience. If you are passionate about working with children and young people and want to make a difference in their lives, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
