Job Summary

The post holder will provide clinical leadership to the Salford Home Based Treatment Team, reviewing patients at Meadowbrook Unit and their home addresses. This role requires establishing provisional diagnoses and advising on treatment plans.

Main Responsibilities

  • Undertake assessments of referrals/admissions to the service.
  • Diagnose and formulate management plans in complex presentations.
  • Provide management in treatment-resistant and complex presentations.
  • Assess and manage risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, risks to health and safety, and risk of harm to others.
  • Prepare Mental Health Review Tribunal and Managers' Hearings reports and attend subsequent hearings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Work with psychiatrists from partner providers, such as Forensic and Rehabilitation Psychiatrists.

Leadership and Service Development

  • Lead clinical decision-making in the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care delivery.
  • Develop service clinical priorities aligned with national and professional guidance and standards.
  • Engage with service transformation programs, including attendance at Consultant meetings for their service and directorate.

Educational Role

  • Provide clinical supervision for trainees to gain core psychiatric experience.
  • Offer clinical supervision for psychiatric trainees to achieve competencies in core general psychiatry.
