We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Team Leader to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing support and knowledge to patients within the speciality.

About the Role
  • This is a Band 6 permanent position, working full-time hours (37.5 hours per week).
  • You will be required to participate in the Directorate internal rotation programme, allowing you to develop your skills and knowledge across different areas of the hospital.

As a Theatre Team Leader, you will act as a role model, demonstrating effective organisational, clinical and leadership skills. You will be responsible for undertaking scrub, recovery and anaesthetic duties, meeting service delivery requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  1. To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based practice care.
  2. To provide management and organisation of a clinical area of the theatre.
  3. To participate in the education, development and line management of other staff members.
  4. To work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and when appropriate their families.
  5. To participate in the improvement of services and the quality of care provision.

Key Clinical Responsibilities include:

  1. Performing comprehensive assessments of patient care needs, planning, implementing and evaluating care delivery according to changing health care needs and technology.
  2. Collecting, evaluating and reporting information, maintaining accurate patient records to enable effective care delivery.
  3. Involving the multidisciplinary team, patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
  4. Working collaboratively with other professionals and departments to ensure patient needs are met.
Managerial Leadership Responsibilities
  1. To act as an effective role model, leading by example and promoting a positive team culture.
  2. To lead a team, organising and coordinating daily care delivery.
  3. To deputise for the Speciality Leader in their absence.
  4. To accept delegated line management responsibilities, including performance development reviews and providing counselling and support where necessary.

The successful candidate will have a salary range of £41,000 - £56,000 depending on experience, plus additional benefits.
