About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Psychologist to join our team at Chalkhill Adolescent Unit. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality psychological assessments and interventions to young people aged 13-18 years old with severe mental health and/or complex neurodevelopmental conditions.

The successful candidate will have a doctoral level qualification in applied psychology and be registered with the Health Professions Council. You will have experience of working with a wide range of client groups, including those with complex needs, and be able to demonstrate specialist knowledge of research methodology and complex data analysis.

We offer a supportive and dynamic work environment, with opportunities for ongoing professional development and supervision. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely with occupational therapists, family therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, and nurses to deliver a high-quality, safe, and effective service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for young people with severe mental health and/or complex neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy and family therapy.
  • Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement risk management plans and contribute to admission and discharge processes.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and contribute to quality improvement projects.
Person Specification
  • Doctoral level qualification in applied psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and lifespan developmental psychology.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of client groups, including those with complex needs.
  • Specialist knowledge of research methodology and complex data analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to quality improvement projects.
