Job Title: Infrastructure Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team at The JM Longbridge Group in Swindon. This is a permanent role with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

In this role, you will work closely with our Database, Wintel, and Network Engineers to design and implement infrastructure solutions across various application lifecycle stages. Our team uses Microsoft Technologies, including Windows Server, SQL Server, and.NET Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document infrastructure requirements within project teams.
  • Develop infrastructure designs for our private cloud, major cloud platforms, or SaaS integrations.
  • Lead a small team of Engineers, including Software and Wintel Engineers.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience in infrastructure design for Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong background in managing and developing Engineers.
  • Expertise in Clustering and High Availability.
  • Knowledge of SaaS integration patterns.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Windows Server, and data networking.
  • Awareness of Monitoring, Tuning, and Reporting for applications, databases, and network performance.
  • Effective stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Agile, and DevOps, and how infrastructure design supports these practices.
