Job Title: Infrastructure Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Design Engineer to join our team at The JM Longbridge Group in Swindon. This is a permanent role with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

About the Role

As an Infrastructure Design Engineer, you will work closely with our Database, Wintel, and Network Engineers to design and implement infrastructure solutions across various application lifecycle stages. You will be responsible for designing and documenting infrastructure requirements within a project team, as well as managing a small team of Engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and document infrastructure requirements within a project team
  • Infrastructure design for our private cloud, major cloud platforms, or integrating with Software as a Service (SaaS) providers
  • Management of a small team of Engineers, including Software and Wintel Engineers
  • Infrastructure design for Microsoft technologies, including SQL Server, Windows Server, and data networking
  • Awareness of Monitoring, Tuning, and Reporting for applications, databases, and network performance
  • Ability to diagnose problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Agile, and DevOps, and how infrastructure design supports these practices
Requirements
  • Experience with SQL Server, Windows Server, and data networking
  • Awareness of Monitoring, Tuning, and Reporting for applications, databases, and network performance
  • Ability to diagnose problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Agile, and DevOps, and how infrastructure design supports these practices
