Job Overview

The JM Longbridge Group is seeking a skilled Infrastructure Design Engineer to join their team in Swindon. This is a permanent role with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

In this position, you will collaborate with Database, Wintel, and Network Engineers to develop solutions across various application lifecycle stages, from concept to deployment and ongoing maintenance. The team utilizes Microsoft Technologies, including Windows Server, SQL Server, and.NET Framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and document infrastructure requirements within a project team.
  • Develop infrastructure designs for either the company's private cloud, a major cloud platform, or integrating with a Software as a Service (SaaS) provider.
  • Lead a small team of Engineers, including Software and Wintel Engineers.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Infrastructure design expertise for Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong background in managing and developing Engineers.
  • Expertise in Clustering and High Availability.
  • Knowledge of SaaS integration patterns.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Windows Server, and data networking.
  • Awareness of Monitoring, Tuning, and Reporting for applications, databases, and network performance.
  • Effective stakeholder management and engagement skills.
  • Ability to diagnose problems, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, Agile, and DevOps, and how infrastructure design supports these practices.
