About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and caring Maternity Support Worker to join our Antenatal & Newborn Screening Team at Northampton General Hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support midwives and the multidisciplinary team in providing safe and holistic care to women and their families.
  • Undertake vital signs, urinalysis, and CO monitoring, as well as other clinical tasks as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the maternity team, including tracking and filing clinical records.
  • Communicate effectively with women and their families, and convey an approachable and professional manner at all times.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to maintain a contemporaneous knowledge base and skill set.
Requirements
  • Education to NVQ level or equivalent, with a commitment to undertake in-house training.
  • GCSE Maths Grades A-C, Levels 4-9, or Functional Skills Level 2.
  • Previous experience of working with members of the public, with a passion for delivering excellent customer service.
  • Understanding of safeguarding issues, health and safety, and data protection confidentiality.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and work without direct supervision.
