About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our West Sussex Care Delivery Service. The successful candidate will be based in Linwood Assessment and Treatment Service, which provides care for adults in the community in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
The role offers a competitive salary, with a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000, in addition to a relocation allowance of up to £8,000. The RRP payment is paid in instalments, with £5,000 paid on appointment, £5,000 at 12 months, £6,500 at 30 months, and £8,500 at 48 months.

Main Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for seeing new assessments, providing detailed assessments, formulation, and risk assessments, developing management plans, and reviewing these in an outpatient setting. They will also review patients already known to the ATS as required, direct their treatment, and provide medical leadership in the development of the team and wider working age services.
The post holder will liaise with local primary care services, provide advice and guidance, supervise junior medical staff, and provide senior clinical leadership to the ATS. They will also have the opportunity to join the Trust-wide consultant network and access peer support from colleagues in West Sussex.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatry, with excellent knowledge of the specialty and the ability to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty. They will also have experience of participating in research or service evaluation and be able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
