About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Adult Psychiatrist to join our team at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our West Sussex Care Delivery Service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health care to adults in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new assessments, providing detailed formulations and risk assessments to develop management plans and review these in an outpatient setting.
  • Review patients already known to the team as required, during their journey through the ATS system.
  • Liaise with local primary care services and provide advice and guidance.
  • Supervise junior medical staff and provide advice to other members of the team, including the duty worker.
  • Provide senior clinical leadership to the ATS and contribute to the development of the team and wider working age services.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Excellent knowledge in specialty.
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty.
  • Participated in research or service evaluation.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service.
  • Evidence of achievement in education, research, audit, and service improvement.
  • Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
