Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Railway Safety Specialist to join our team as a Signalling Design Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing safety-related signalling design deliverables that meet industry safety standards, project programmes, and technical specifications.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of signalling principles design from PACE Phase 1 ES2 through to PACE Phase 4 ES8 (previously GRIP1 to GRIP8) and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Design Team Leadership or working towards it by leading small teams on stage works.

Responsibilities
  • To develop initial design concepts that meet the client's technical requirements, including locations/REBs/RR's, schematics, specifications, reports, logs, and calculations;
  • To create detailed design documentation, including feasibility studies, detailed designs, and design investigations.


Requirements
  • Strong understanding of signalling principles design from PACE Phase 1 ES2 through to PACE Phase 4 ES8 (previously GRIP1 to GRIP8);
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Design Team Leadership or working towards it by leading small teams on stage works;
  • Advanced skills in MicroStation (CAD), Alstom PLANS software, Signal Spacing calculations model (SSPaM), TPWS Placer, Headway Charts, Signal Sighting Database (SSiFT), Cab footage AIVR.
