We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Coveberry Oldbury, a registered locked rehabilitation Hospital with 13 en-suite bedrooms and 2 independent transitional flats. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing safe and nutritious food to patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook all meals to the highest standards.
- Ensure that planned menus are followed and that all food preparation plant, equipment, and utensils are used safely at all times.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of food and hygiene regulations and their application within the unit.
- Check deliveries and arrange for correct storage of all foodstuffs.
- Minimise cross-infection by discouraging other staff and visitors from entering the food preparation area.
- Ensure that the requirements of Environmental Health and CQC regarding food handling are met.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Conditions of Service, Health and Safety, Fire Regulations, Infection Control, and all other appropriate policies of the home.
- Attend and/or allocated training as required.
- Support the unit's Quality Assurance and improvement initiatives.
