CareTech Group is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Coveberry Oldbury, a registered locked rehabilitation Hospital.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking all meals, ensuring that the planned menus are followed, and maintaining a safe and clean food preparation environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook all meals in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Ensure that all food preparation equipment and utensils are used safely and hygienically.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of food and hygiene regulations and their application within the unit.
- Check deliveries and arrange for correct storage of all foodstuffs.
- Minimise cross-infection by discouraging other staff and visitors from entering the food preparation area.
- Ensure that the requirements of Environmental Health and CQC regarding food handling are met.
- Maintain a working knowledge of Conditions of Service, Health and Safety, Fire Regulations, Infection Control, and all other appropriate policies of the home.
- Attend and/or allocated training as required.
- Support the unit's Quality Assurance and improvement initiatives.
