Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans and ensure students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist students with personal care needs, if required, and provide emotional support to help them feel comfortable and confident in the classroom.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular updates to teachers and other relevant staff members.
Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with SEND, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of different learning styles and strategies to support students with SEND.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Training in behaviour management strategies.
Working Conditions
  • Mornings only position, working hours may vary.
  • Work primarily in a classroom setting.
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviours from students with SEND.
