Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in a classroom setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEND, assisting them with their learning activities and helping them access the curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans for students with SEND, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Support students with personal care needs, if required, and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress and behavior, providing valuable insights to teachers and other support staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths, with a strong foundation in communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant experience working with individuals with SEND, with a proven ability to adapt to diverse learning styles and strategies.
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and a commitment to upholding its principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent, demonstrating a strong understanding of educational principles and practices.
  • First Aid certification and training in behavior management strategies, with a focus on de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
Working Conditions
  • Mornings only position, with variable working hours and a focus on providing support in a classroom setting.
  • Potential exposure to challenging behaviors from students with SEND, requiring a calm and composed demeanor.
