Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a specialist patient-focused technical pharmacy service
  • Assess the suitability of patients' medicines on admission and discharge
  • Facilitate discharge through the timely and efficient supply of medicines
  • Liaise with ward and pharmacy staff to facilitate the efficient transfer of medication and relevant information when patients move wards

The successful candidate will also participate in general dispensary duties, including dispensing and accuracy checking, and will have the opportunity to rotate through a wide range of specialties including acute medicine, critical care, neurology, paediatrics, cardiology, renal, haematology, and surgical/gastro medicine.

In addition, the role requires maintaining compliance with King's policies and procedures for Medicines Management, managing and supporting the safe, accurate, and timely supply of medicines to wards and clinics, and adhering to quality standards and performance indicators for service developments implemented.
