Job Description

As a Principal Biodiversity Officer with The Heart of England Forest, you will play a crucial role in optimising biodiversity across the organisation's portfolio in Worcestershire and Warwickshire. This is an exciting opportunity to lead wildlife surveys and long-term monitoring initiatives, collaborating with staff, volunteers, and local experts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conservation biology and a passion for sustainable forest management. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance biodiversity, working closely with stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement biodiversity strategies to enhance the organisation's portfolio
  • Lead wildlife surveys and long-term monitoring initiatives
  • Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and local experts to achieve organisational goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements:
  • MSc or PhD in Conservation Biology or related field
  • Proven experience in sustainable forest management and biodiversity conservation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
