SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our school in Morecambe. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support the learning and daily routine of a non-verbal pupil with Down's Syndrome.

A competitive hourly pay rate of £13.18 per hour, based on full-time hours (37.5 per week) for 52 weeks per year, results in an estimated annual salary of £24,849.60.

Job Summary:
  • This position requires a team player who can collaborate with another teaching assistant to facilitate the integration of a pupil into mainstream school activities.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop a supportive relationship with the pupil, focusing on enhancing their educational and social development.
  • Employ specialised communication techniques to interact effectively with a non-verbal pupil.
  • Assist in the implementation of educational plans and activities designed to meet the pupil's unique learning needs.
  • Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the pupil's education and care.
  • Support the pupil's everyday routine and integration into mainstream school activities.
