Communications Assistant

About the Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled Communications Assistant - External Affairs to join our team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting in proactive media relations, writing, and editing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the press office by drafting press releases, editing articles and blogs, and responding to journalist inquiries.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase media coverage and visibility.
- Collaborate with colleagues to produce high-quality content for our website and social media channels.
- Support the management of databases and tracking systems for journalists and media coverage.
Requirements:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Experience in editing and proofreading documents, with an ability to work with authors and adhere to house style.
- Highly organised and able to multitask, with excellent time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMS skills, with experience in social media and software like Adobe Creative Cloud desirable.
- Strong interest in UK public policy and politics, as well as a commitment to our values.
- Previous experience in an editing/publication role and some experience in creating media and publishing it in various outputs.
Salary: £25,000 per annum
