About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corrosion Testing Engineer to join our team at Intertek CAPCIS. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for carrying out corrosion testing programmes for the assessment of chemical corrosion inhibitors for use in oil and gas applications, under sour service conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out laboratory work to implement corrosion inhibitor testing experiments from small scale screening tests, high temperature, high pressure dynamic tests and flow loop simulation testing.
  • Analyse and interpret data, including electrochemical and metallographic test data and microscopic examination information pertinent to the progress of assignments and the preparation of client reports.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports and answer client queries on reports in a satisfactory and professional manner.
  • Support the technical operation of the CT laboratory in the operation of equipment and the smooth running of laboratory processes.
  • Provide leadership to the laboratory in all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality whilst providing a service to meet our customer's needs.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in the physical sciences, chemistry or materials science.
  • Minimum of two years industrial experience preferably in a materials' testing environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of electrochemistry an advantage.
  • Experience of customer/client interactions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret customer/client technical needs and implement test methodologies to meet client needs.
  • Good organisation and scheduling skills.
  • Experience of staff supervision would be an advantage.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Good IT literacy skills.
