Job Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding role within our Speech and Language Therapy department, where you will have the opportunity to develop and lead new pathways of care for adults with complex communication, swallowing, and airway disorders.

As a highly specialist clinical practitioner, you will provide clinical leadership, develop excellence in clinical practice, and deliver advanced clinical assessment and interventions.

You will work clinically within our Acute and Community settings, providing care to patients with altered airways, complex communication, and swallowing disorders, voice disorders, and head and neck cancer.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main Duties of the Job

You will work with established and developing multi-agency and inter-disciplinary teams across BCUHB and with partners to develop SLT services into new pathways that meet the needs of this population.

Working up to full-time, this post will include % research and quality improvement and training time developing sustainable SLT services for our patients and a team with the right skills to develop the right services at the right time.

You will work alongside the Leadership and Management Group of the Speech and Language Therapy department in the West area of BCUHB, with service-wide responsibility for specified projects.
