About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team as an Advanced Practitioner. This is a new permanent role in North West Wales, offering a unique opportunity to develop new and existing pathways of care for adults with complex communication, swallowing, and airway disorders.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will work clinically within our Acute and Community settings, providing care to patients with altered airways, complex communication, and swallowing disorders, voice disorders, and head and neck cancer. You will work alongside the Leadership and Management Group of the Speech and Language Therapy department in the West area of BCUHB, with service-wide responsibility for specified projects.

You will be part of the friendly and supportive Adult SLT team, where there is a wide range of expertise and experience. There is excellent peer support, regular clinical supervision, monthly team meetings, and regular cross-team CPD and training opportunities. You will also have access to regular therapist-led and MDT clinics, including VF.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care to patients with complex communication, swallowing, and airway disorders
  • Work alongside the Leadership and Management Group of the Speech and Language Therapy department
  • Develop new and existing pathways of care for adults with complex communication, swallowing, and airway disorders
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, team meetings, and CPD opportunities
  • Contribute to the development of clinical education and training programs
Requirements
  • BSc/Grad Dip in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Master's level education or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • HCPC and RCSLT Registered Speech and Language Therapist
  • Evidence of significant CPD and post-registration activity in the specialist field
  • Membership of National Clinical Excellence Network/s appropriate to clinical area
  • Relevant extended scope skills
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £51,706 to £58,210 per annum, pro rata. We also offer a range of benefits, including flexible working, home or remote working, and compressed hours.
