About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Chef to join our team at Holroyd Howe, a leading contract caterer in the UK. As a Senior Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences to our clients, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Development: Collaborate with our culinary team to design and implement menus that meet the needs of our clients and their students.
  • Food Preparation and Service: Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service, ensuring that all dishes meet the company's standards and client expectations.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train kitchen staff, kitchen assistants, and other team members, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain appropriate inventory levels while minimizing waste.
  • Catering Events: Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events, themed dinners, and other culinary initiatives.
  • Health and Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, always following health and safety regulations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Support the Head Chef in administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records of food costs and inventory.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to continuously enhance the menu offerings and overall dining experience.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution preferred.
  • Culinary Qualifications: Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
  • Food Safety Knowledge: Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
