Position Overview

As a Junior Culinary Supervisor, you will play a vital role in assisting the Executive and Head Chef in ensuring the seamless execution of all culinary functions and events across multiple locations. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Executive/Head Chef in the efficient management of culinary operations.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of hospitality and event menus.
  • Maintain high standards of culinary excellence across both senior and preparatory educational institutions.
  • Oversee food production, ensuring adherence to quality, cost control, and timely menu planning.
  • Facilitate the smooth operation of the kitchen section as required.
  • Assist in inventory management and the development of innovative food concepts.
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes that meet the company's and clients' standards.
  • Enhance the company's reputation for outstanding food and service.

Client Engagement:

  • Deliver prompt and efficient service, consistently exceeding customer expectations.
  • Maintain a customer-centric approach, being approachable and responsive to client needs.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company standards, employing creativity in presentation and service.

Team Development:

  • Foster a positive team environment by empowering and supporting kitchen staff.
  • Lead by example, promoting a fun and proud workplace culture.
  • Encourage mutual respect and teamwork among all staff members.

Health & Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure the kitchen complies with all health, safety, and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and report any issues to the Executive/Head Chef.
  • Promote safe working practices and ensure all staff are trained in company procedures.
  • Encourage environmentally sustainable practices within the kitchen.

Professional Development:

  • Take initiative in your own professional growth with guidance from the Head Chef.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the company's values and act as a positive representative.
  • Respond to reasonable requests from clients or management as needed.


Company Overview

Salary: Up to £26,000

Term-time only, includes occasional evenings and weekends

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • GCSE level education or equivalent.
  • NVQ qualification or similar.
  • Strong culinary skills and a progressive background in catering.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • A genuine passion for food and customer service.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in educational catering.

Skills:

  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Capacity to plan ahead and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels.
