We are seeking a highly skilled Associate or Associate Director Hydrologist to join our Sustainable Water Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering flood risk management projects and leading hydrological contributions to a wide range of projects for our external and internal clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement flood hydrology study approaches
- Undertake Quality Assurance and independent technical reviews of hydrology assessments
- Prepare project and technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
- Coordinate and manage flood hydrology studies within our teams
- Mentor and develop the skills of junior hydrologists
- Support business development through identifying prospective opportunities and leading on the preparation of proposals
- Provide project, commercial, and financial management for projects
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Excellent understanding of UK hydrological techniques and the Flood Estimation Handbook
- Experience of low flow hydrology and non-real time (flood mapping) and/or real time (flood forecasting) studies
- Experience of undertaking hydrology reviews for statutory bodies
- Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Relevant experience of delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authority/national government
- Drive and ability to develop suitable opportunities and build client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period)
