About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist to join our Sustainable Water Management Team. As an Associate or Associate Director, you will play a key role in delivering our national programme of work, focusing on flood risk management projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead hydrological contributions to a wide variety of projects for external and internal clients
  • Drive the direction of projects working with other disciplines within the water team
  • Oversee and mentor junior hydrologists within our team
  • Develop and implement flood hydrology study approaches
  • Undertake Quality Assurance and independent technical reviews of hydrology assessments
  • Prepare project and technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders
  • Coordinate and manage flood hydrology studies within our teams
  • Mentor and technical development of others in hydrology
  • Support business development through identifying prospective opportunities and leading on the preparation of proposals
  • Provide project, commercial and financial management for projects
  • Undertake client and stakeholder liaison
Requirements
  • Excellent understanding of UK hydrological techniques, the Flood Estimation Handbook and knowledge of recent updates and active fields of development
  • Experience of Low flow hydrology advantageous
  • Experience of non-real time (flood mapping) and/or real time (flood forecasting) studies
  • Experience of undertaking hydrology reviews for statutory bodies
  • Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
  • Relevant experience of delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authority/national government
  • Drive and ability to build client relationships and develop suitable opportunities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Chartership with a relevant professional body (or commitment to work towards within an agreed period)
