Job Title: Information Governance Support Officer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as an Information Governance Support Officer, providing administration support within our Data Protection Officer (DPO) Support Service for General Medical Practices (GMP) & Community Pharmacies (CP) on a secondment or fixed term basis.

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative individual with sound administration skills and a willingness to develop some specialist knowledge in the area of Information Governance, including Data Protection. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work dynamically and flexibly to provide a first-class service.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of the team, including arranging meetings, note-taking, drafting associated papers/plans, co-ordinating workshops/training sessions, and providing associated support. Experience in the NHS, Information Governance, and/or working in a Primary Care setting is desirable but not essential.

This role requires a flexible approach to work and the ability to travel on occasion to various sites across Wales as required. The successful candidate will be required to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Delivery of the DPO Service across Wales.
  • Providing administration support to the team, including arranging meetings, note-taking, and drafting associated papers/plans.
  • Coordinating workshops/training sessions and providing associated support.
  • Developing specialist knowledge in the area of Information Governance, including Data Protection.
Requirements
  • BCS Certificate in Data Protection or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of administering in an office environment.
  • Good knowledge of Computer skills, and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to master new applications.
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and reporting, e.g., Power BI.
  • Welsh Language Skills are desirable levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing in Welsh.
  • Experience and understanding of Information Governance and technology issues within the healthcare environment.
  • Experience and understanding of Information Governance legislation.
  • Ability to travel across sites within Wales.
