Administrative Support Officer for Directors of Programmes

Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs, and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.

As an Administrative Support Officer for Directors of Programmes, you will play a vital role in providing administrative support to the Director and Associate Director of Programme (DoP) as delegated. This includes managing the DoP's diary, communications, travel, and accommodation bookings, as well as assisting with scheduling meetings and minute-taking.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant field, such as Social Sciences or International Development, and a minimum of one year's administration experience. You will be computer literate, proficient in MS Office Suite, and fluent in English and Arabic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate directors' workloads, activities, and diary, managing priorities and ensuring no clashes
  • Organise all travel, including accommodation and logistical arrangements for directors in a timely manner and within a predefined budget
  • Provide an effective administrative service to the Directors (incl. minute taking, follow up of actions)
  • Make yourself available to provide wider administrative and diary management support to Directors
  • Swift response time on emails, requests, meetings
  • Assist with planning, implementation, and evaluations of programmes/projects and coordinate with other team members to ensure deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality
  • Follow up with members of the Programmes department and other HA departments to ensure progress of tasks delegated by the directors
  • Report back to directors about progress regularly

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree-educated (such as Social Sciences, or International Development) Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) educated
  • Previous administration experience for at least 1 year
  • Understanding and passion for the International Development sector
  • Computer literate, proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Must be fluent in English and Arabic language
