About Us

The Royal Shakespeare Company is a renowned theatre organization seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Company Manager for our upcoming touring production of Matilda The Musical.

Salary: An attractive salary in the range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, reflecting the company's commitment to compensating its staff fairly.

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Company Manager to oversee the efficient setup, planning, and day-to-day running of the Matilda The Musical Tour across the UK and Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the best practice and adherence to RSC policies, particularly in safeguarding adults and children. Your expertise will also be invaluable in maintaining performance standards and backstage discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the logistical aspects of the tour, including venue management and technical requirements
  • Ensure compliance with relevant agreements and regulations, such as UK Theatre Equity, BECTU, and MU
  • Maintain open communication with the creative team and stakeholders
  • Manage budgetary control and make informed decisions regarding resource allocation
  • Foster a positive working environment and ensure the welfare of the acting company, technical departments, and musicians
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver exceptional results

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Company Manager in professional touring theatre
  • Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience working with children in a professional theatre setting
  • Strong IT user skills and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
