Job Summary

The successful candidate will be working across the Community Treatment Team and the Northumberland Memory Service. As part of the Community Treatment Team, they will provide psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment for older adult clients and families experiencing complex mental health difficulties. They will also provide supervision and support to members of the Community Treatment Team.

This role offers substantial scope and opportunities for developing special interests in particular psychological approaches, teaching/training, clinical supervision, research, and involvement in service development. Our friendly and supportive Psychology Network is embedded within a thriving network of clinicians providing services to Older Adults in Northumberland.

We have close links with the Newcastle upon Tyne and Teesside Doctorate training courses and regularly host Trainees on placement as well as contributing to course teaching.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A doctoral level qualification in clinical/counselling psychology, including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology, as well as two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology, accredited by the HCPC and British Psychological Society.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Knowledge of specialist psychological therapies relevant to working with complex mental health problems in older people.

Desirable skills include experience of working with complex mental health problems in older people as part of a community treatment team.

This role is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975.

Salary and Benefits
