Job Summary:

NHS Dumfries & Galloway's Primary Care Mental Health Service is seeking a skilled professional to join their team as a Primary Care Mental Health Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a community-based setting, providing support and services to individuals with mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support GP practices with triage and mental health assessments
  • Deliver brief therapeutic interventions and work in partnership with Primary Care, Home teams, Secondary Care Mental Health Services, and Third Sector Agencies
  • Work closely with patients and carers, providing guidance and support
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of local mental health support services

Requirements:

  • Confident and skilled in mental health assessments and interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for working in a community-based setting
