Primary Care Mental Health Nurse Opportunity

NHS Dumfries & Galloway's Primary Care Mental Health Service is seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within Community Mental Health and gain experience in a primary care setting.

The post holder will be aligned to Annandale and Eskdale Community Mental Health Team, but will be based within GP practices supporting Primary Care in the provision of early assessment and interventions for people with mild-moderate mental health issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting GP practices with triage and completion of mental health assessments
  • Delivery of brief therapeutic interventions
  • Close partnership working with Primary Care, Home teams, Secondary Care Mental Health Services, and Third Sector Agencies

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of local mental health support services and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility, enthusiasm, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
