About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Rotational Therapy Assistant. As a key member of our therapy team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist therapists and senior therapy assistants in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients using a range of therapy techniques.
  • Undertake patient treatments as delegated by the therapist, following a treatment plan, and provide feedback on reactions and progress.
  • Treat patients individually or in groups with direct or indirect supervision in various settings, including wards, gyms, and clinics.
  • Assist with the moving and handling of complex, high-risk patients in preparation for and during treatment sessions, according to patient risk assessments.
  • Instruct patients and carers on treatment programs and provide guidance on progression and health promotion.
  • Encourage patients and their carers to adopt an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence, requiring empathy, sensitivity, and effective communication skills.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with the following qualifications, knowledge, and experience:

  • Good general education (to GCSE or equivalent)
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ II Level or equivalent experience in communication skills, administrative tasks, and health and safety awareness
  • Understanding of physiotherapy and occupational therapy
  • Understanding of working with patients in a therapeutic role
  • Experience in interacting with the public or patients
  • Experience in a role demonstrating communication skills, prioritization of tasks, and an organized, methodical approach to work
  • Experience of documenting and evidencing learning
