Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Rotational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our therapy team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our therapists in providing effective interventions.

Main Responsibilities

As a Rotational Therapy Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting therapy interventions given to patients, working as part of integrated therapy specialty teams.
  • Assisting therapists with patient treatments, including accessing visits and stair assessments.
  • Undertaking patient treatments as delegated by the therapist, following a treatment plan, and providing feedback on reactions and progress.
  • Treating patients individually or in groups with direct or indirect supervision in various settings, including wards, gyms, and clinics.
  • Assisting with the moving and handling of complex, high-risk patients in preparation for and during treatment sessions.
  • Providing direction and guidance on treatment programs and progression to patients and their carers.
  • Encouraging patients and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Good general education (to GCSE or equivalent).
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ II Level or equivalent experience in communication skills, administrative, and task organization, and Health & Safety awareness.
  • Experience in interacting with the public or patients.
  • Experience in a role that demonstrates communication skills, prioritizing tasks, and an organized, methodical approach to work.
  • Basic keyboard skills.
