About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Rotational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. As a Rotational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting therapy intervention given to patients, working as part of integrated therapy specialty teams.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists and senior Therapy Assistants in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients using a range of therapy techniques.
  • Undertake patient treatments as delegated by the therapist, following a treatment plan, and provide feedback on reactions and progress.
  • Treat patients individually or in a group with direct or indirect supervision in various settings, including wards, gyms, and clinics.
  • Assist with the moving and handling of complex, high-risk patients in preparation for or during treatment sessions.
  • Provide direction and guidance on treatment programs and progression to patients and their carers.
  • Encourage patients and their carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.

Requirements

  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ II Level or equivalent experience in communication skills, administrative and task organization, and Health & Safety awareness.
  • Experience in interacting with the public or patients.
  • Experience in a role that demonstrates communication skills, prioritizing of tasks, and an organized, methodical approach to work.
