About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Therapy Assistant to join our team on a fixed-term basis. As a Rotational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our therapy teams in delivering high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist therapists and senior therapy assistants in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients using a range of therapy techniques.
  • Undertake patient treatments as delegated by the therapist, following a treatment plan, and provide feedback on reactions and progress.
  • Treat patients individually or in groups with direct or indirect supervision in various settings, including wards, gyms, and clinics.
  • Assist with the moving and handling of complex, high-risk patients in preparation for and during treatment sessions, according to patient risk assessments.
  • Provide direction and guidance on treatment programs and progression to patients and their carers, promoting health and independence.
  • Make accurate records of patient contacts and maintain monthly statistics in line with Trust, CSP, and service standards.

Person Specification

  • Good general education to GCSE or equivalent.
  • Theoretical and practical training to NVQ II Level or equivalent experience in communication skills, administrative tasks, and health and safety awareness.
  • Understanding of physiotherapy and occupational therapy, as well as working with patients in a therapeutic role.
  • Experience in interacting with the public or patients, demonstrating communication skills, prioritization of tasks, and an organized approach to work.
