About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Learning Support Specialist at Suffolk One Sixth Form College.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to support students with Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs. As a Learning Support Specialist, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored interventions and ensure students' academic and personal success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective pastoral support plans to meet individual students' needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to deliver Trauma-Informed Schools strategies and promote a positive school culture.
  • Contribute to Annual Reviews and assess student progress, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Work with Family Support Workers to build strong home-school partnerships and enhance student outcomes.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and maintain up-to-date student risk profiles for off-site activities.
  • Provide first aid and administer medication in accordance with school guidelines.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting students with SEMH or similar needs.
  • A creative approach to problem-solving and delivering interventions.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and inclusive education is an advantage.
  • The ability to contribute to a positive, supportive school culture that inspires students to succeed.

Salary: £25,119 - £27,334 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience), actual salary £21,322.23 per annum.
