About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Specialist to join our team at The Coal Authority. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a key role in providing specialist environmental assessment and environmental management related technical advice and support to project delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading on the environmental assessment of projects, ensuring appropriate ecological and other environmental data is collected and utilised during all stages of project development and delivery.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for WAMM Project Managers on matters relating to ecological and other environmental management, protection and improvement.
  • Assisting with implementation of measures from the Coal Authority Sustainability and Nature Recovery Plans into the operation and maintenance of pollution prevention schemes.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge of UK environmental protection legislation and policy, including sustainability and nature recovery objectives.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support and advice to project stakeholders.
