About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Specialist to join our dynamic team at The Coal Authority. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering impactful projects related to river pollution prevention and metal mine remediation in some of the UK's most beautiful and protected landscapes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and advice to project stakeholders on environmental protection and sustainability.
  • Develop clear and effective scopes of work for major pollution prevention and mine remediation projects.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects that meet sustainability and nature recovery objectives.
  • Act as a first point of contact for project managers on matters relating to ecological and other environmental management, protection, and improvement.
  • Assist with the implementation of measures from the Coal Authority Sustainability and Nature Recovery Plans into the operation and maintenance of pollution prevention schemes.
Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of UK environmental protection legislation and policy, including sustainability and nature recovery objectives.
  • Proven experience in providing technical support and advice to project stakeholders.
