Environmental Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Specialist to join our dynamic team dedicated to river pollution prevention and metal mine remediation in some of the UK's most beautiful and protected landscapes.
As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will be responsible for providing specialist environmental assessment and environmental management related technical advice and support to project delivery teams, with particular focus on the Water and Abandoned Metal Mines (WAMM) Programme.
You will lead on the environmental assessment of projects, ensuring appropriate ecological and other environmental data is collected and utilised during all stages of project development and delivery.
Acting as a first point of contact for WAMM Project Managers on matters relating to ecological and other environmental management, protection and improvement, you will advise on the scope and implications of external environmental consultants surveying and reporting.
You will also assist with the implementation of measures from the Coal Authority Sustainability and Nature Recovery Plans into the operation and maintenance of pollution prevention schemes, working closely with the Sustainability, Nature Recovery and Environmental Management System managers.
This is a hybrid working role, with an average of 2 days working out of our Mansfield office.
