Environmental Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Specialist to join our team at The Coal Authority. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a key role in providing technical advice and support to project delivery teams, with a focus on environmental assessment and management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead on environmental assessments of projects, ensuring the collection and utilisation of ecological and other environmental data during all stages of project development and delivery.
- Act as a first point of contact for project managers on matters relating to ecological and other environmental management, protection, and improvement.
- Advise on the scope and implications of external environmental consultants surveying and reporting.
- Assist with the implementation of measures from the Coal Authority Sustainability and Nature Recovery Plans into the operation and maintenance of pollution prevention schemes.
- In-depth knowledge of UK environmental protection legislation and policy, including sustainability and nature recovery objectives.
- Proven experience in providing technical support and advice to project stakeholders.
