Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary CAMHS Service, you will be based within the YJS and will be responsible for providing mental health assessments and brief psychotherapeutic interventions to children and young people who are involved with the YJS.
Main Responsibilities- To ensure high-quality mental health assessments of children and young people referred to the YJS.
- To identify the need for assessment through liaison with the Police, Courts, Probation, YJS, CAMHS, and other appropriate agencies for young offenders who may also be experiencing mental health issues.
- To provide access to a range of quality psychotherapeutic interventions in accordance with individual assessed need, including the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of various therapeutic approaches.
- To deliver highly specialized and therapeutic input to children and young people referred to the team.
- Professional qualifications relevant to work in child and adolescent mental health, such as nursing, social work, or clinical psychology to masters level or equivalent experience.
- Specialist post-qualification training in psychological therapy with children and families to at least the equivalent of a postgraduate diploma level.
- Additional postgraduate qualifications relevant to child mental health.
- Additional accredited training.
