We are seeking a highly skilled Adult Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- To identify and develop strategies to manage risk to the child/young person and others in line with Pennine Care and CAMHS procedures and protocols.
- To liaise closely with a wide range of agencies regarding individual care packages and to promote awareness of child and adolescent mental health issues within these agencies.
- To undertake liaison and joint work with other agencies and to act as an appropriate adult to children/young people who have offended and who may also have a mental health issue.
- To provide information around young offenders to the court as necessary and to attend court in order to provide support to the young person.
- To provide assessments to those young people who may need to be diverted out of the criminal justice system and present those cases at the Mentally Vulnerable Offenders Panel.
- To give advice and support to the manager of the Youth Justice Service in terms of the development of services to meet the mental health needs of young offenders.
- To provide consultation and training on a wide range of children/young people's emotional health and well-being issues to professionals from a range of services including GPs, Early Help and Primary Care Services, Adult Mental Health Services, Social Care, and Education Services.
- To engage in and deliver managerial and clinical supervision, including with appropriate consent, recording and reviewing of live clinical work.
- To ensure collection of relevant information required by Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and to routinely monitor the effectiveness of clinical work by the use of Routine Outcome Measures (ROM).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult mental health and experience working with children and young people. They will be able to work flexibly, including occasional weekends, and be able to contribute to the YJS duty rota.
