About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality mental health assessments and interventions to children and young people who have been involved with the youth justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide mental health assessments and brief psychotherapeutic interventions to children and young people who have been involved with the youth justice system.
  • To work closely with a wide range of agencies, including the Police, Courts, Probation, and other healthcare providers, to ensure that children and young people receive the support they need.
  • To provide training and consultation to other professionals, including GPs, Early Help, and Primary Care Services, on child and adolescent mental health issues.
  • To engage in and deliver managerial and clinical supervision, including with appropriate consent, recording and reviewing of live clinical work.
  • To contribute to the development of services to meet the mental health needs of young offenders.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Professional qualifications relevant to work in child and adolescent mental health, such as nursing, social work, or clinical psychology.
  • Specialist post-qualification training in psychological therapy with children and families.
  • Accreditation with the appropriate accrediting bodies governing the specific modality.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who have been involved with the youth justice system.
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use initiative.
  • Organisational, time management, report writing, and record-keeping skills.
  • IT skills.
  • Ability to manage change and motivate staff.
  • Ability to be self-reflective while working with children and young people within own personal and professional development.
