Customer Connections Specialist

At National Grid, we're committed to harnessing the unique strengths of our people to drive forward the energy transition. As a Customer Connections Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in connecting customers to the high voltage transmission system in England and Wales.
This position is essential in turning the UK's net zero ambitions into reality. You'll be the first point of contact for our customers, supporting them through our connections process and ensuring we know their needs and requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Proactively engaging with customers to build and strengthen relationships.
- Logging customer complaints and resolving these quickly and efficiently.
- Capturing customer intelligence in our CRM system and feeding insight into our business plan.
- Acting as a data champion for our CRM system to ensure our data is accurate and aligns with our customer's pipeline.
- Having basic knowledge of a TOCO and being able to articulate it in ways to suit customer understanding.
- Understanding our customer's needs and keeping them updated via progress meetings and communications.
- Sharing knowledge, coaching, and helping in developing the Assistant Relationship Managers.
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience of managing multiple customers or stakeholders.
- A proven track record of being able to influence at a peer level.
- Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- The ability to thrive in a busy working environment with numerous activities running in parallel.
- Experience in relationship and/or account management preferred.
- Experience in using a CRM System (Salesforce or similar) preferred.
We offer a competitive salary of £41,000 - £48,000 based on experience, 26 days annual leave plus eight statutory days, and a generous contributory pension scheme.
