About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our team as a Personal Assistant for a university student with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

The successful candidate will provide support with daily living activities, including personal care, housekeeping, and domestic duties, as well as assist with commuting to and from university.

The ideal candidate will be physically fit, calm, patient, and caring, with good organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and non-smoker, with a clean and tidy appearance and a good sense of humour.

About the Client

Our client is a young man who is passionate about film and TV production, and is studying for an undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway University of London.

He is an electric wheelchair user and requires assistance with daily living activities, including personal care and mobility.

The client values tidiness and organisation, and is looking for someone who is compassionate, reliable, and proactive.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal care, including dressing, showering, and using the hoist
  • Support with daily living activities, housekeeping, and domestic duties
  • Help with commuting to and from university
  • Assist with physio programs and using equipment like the electric wheelchair and shower chair
  • Engage in social activities and outings
Requirements
  • Physically fit, calm, patient, and caring
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative

  • Good communication skills and a good sense of humour
  • Reliable
  • Non-smoker
  • Clean and tidy in both appearance and ways

What We Offer

We offer a competitive rate of pay, with a starting rate of £200 per day, and a range of benefits, including 5.6 weeks of holiday per year, and bespoke training in the client's particular requirements.
