About the Role

Key Responsibilities:



  • Manage a caseload of up to five students who have faced challenges in their educational journey.
  • Provide tailored academic support and essential pastoral care to promote student well-being and academic success.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Requirements



  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards it. Degree or equivalent, with Maths and English to at least Level 2. Specialist teaching qualification in a chosen subject (desirable).
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage student behavior effectively and demonstrate a commitment to pastoral care in an alternative education setting.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs.
  • Understanding of equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion issues, particularly in alternative education settings that serve vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, tailored to engage effectively with students, parents/carers, community members, and colleagues.
