Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Educational Mentor to join our dynamic team at The Progress Group in Northamptonshire.


This is an exciting opportunity to empower students who have faced challenges in their educational journey, providing them with tailored academic support and essential pastoral care to pave the way for their successful return to formal education.


The ideal candidate will be able to manage a caseload of up to five students, engage and inspire these young minds in their communities, and help dismantle barriers to learning.


About the Role:



  • Manage a caseload of up to five students who require additional support.
  • Engage and inspire students in their communities, providing tailored academic support and pastoral care.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion issues in alternative education settings.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that sets high expectations for student behavior and outcomes.

Requirements:



  • Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards it.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent, with Maths and English to at least Level 2.
  • Specialist teaching qualification in a chosen subject (desirable).
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage student behavior effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Experience teaching across the secondary age range, with a proven track record as a creative and adaptable teacher.
  • A positive role model who sets high expectations for student behavior and outcomes.
