Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our team at MTrec Ltd Technical in North Tyneside. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging in fault diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and breakdown recovery of HGVs. Additionally, they will be responsible for MOT prep/presentation and full vehicle overhaul, including engine/gear box repairs. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Repairs and/or be Time Served. A Class 1 HGV Licence would be beneficial. The role offers a 45-hour weekly two-shift pattern, with overtime rates of £23.01, £26.57, and £35.41. The technician will also participate in a first-time MOT pass bonus scheme, securing an extra £60.00 per month.
The successful candidate will be a reliable and trustworthy individual with the capability to work unsupervised, using their own initiative, to tight deadlines. They will be responsible for utilising all Personal Protective Equipment as necessary and documenting and filing service information/records.
About the Role:
- Engage in fault diagnostics and servicing of HGVs
- Responsible for repairs, breakdown recovery, and MOT prep/presentation
- Full vehicle overhaul, including engine/gear box repairs
- Completion of safety inspections and servicing
- MOT preparations of HGV trailers
- On-site diagnostics of faults with plant equipment
About You:
- Minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance/Repairs
- Time Served or equivalent experience
- Class 1 HGV Licence beneficial
