The Role:

As a key member of the Finance & Tax team at PIB Group, we are seeking an experienced VAT Accountant to join our Nottingham office. This exciting opportunity presents a chance to work with a global organization that values professional growth and a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the UK Quarterly VAT Return for the UK VAT Group and other business lines.
  • Extract data from various IT applications, verify the data, and analyze transactions by applying UK VAT rules.
  • Perform transactional reviews following internal SOPs and HMRC VAT compliance guidance.
  • Support the UK Tax team with International VAT compliance preparation and review, contributing to ongoing process improvement and system refinements.

Requirements:

  • ACA (or equivalent) or CTA (part or fully) qualified tax professional.
  • Qualified to CCAB or ATT.
  • Experience of working in a complex International Group with a range of VAT recoverable rates.
  • Production of UK and International VAT returns.
  • Robust knowledge of current UK and International VAT legislation.
  • Use of VAT specific software, including Alpha VAT (desirable).
  • Good communication and influencing skills with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Data manipulation from multiple sources.
  • Advanced Excel skills (desirable).
  • Highly organized with great time management skills.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude, natural problem solver, and multi-tasker with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
